13/03/2018 – Cambodia is the first country to join the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement

thumb wipoOn 9 March, Cambodia joined the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement on Appellations of Origin and Geographical Indications. As the EU is preparing its accession to the same treaty, the Geneva Act is generating renewed interest.

During the 2015 WIPO Diplomatic Conference, which led to the adoption of Geneva Act, oriGIn had invited Lao Reasey, Deputy Director of the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) of Cambodia, to attend the Conference and participate in GIs events – We are proud to see that Cambodia became the first country to join the Geneva Act.
