thumb 2017 12 19 2The study on “Protection and Control of Geographical Indications for Agricultural Products in the EU Member States” was launched on 14 December 2017.

The study was conducted by the EUIPO’s European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights on a request from the EU Commission, Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI), with the objective of providing better knowledge of the landscape of the control and protection systems for geographical indications protecting agricultural products and foodstuff, wines, spirit drinks and aromatised wines (GIs) as IPR in the 28 EU Member States.
