On 08 June, Vietnam’s National Assembly ratified the free trade agreement concluded with the EU (EVFTA). The European Parliament had done the same in February this year.
When the agreement enters into force on the 1st of August 2020, 169 EU GIs will be protected in Vietnam (Annex 12-A, Part A of the agreement) and 39 Vietnamese GIs will be protected in the EU (Annex 12-A, Part B of the agreement).
