Geneva, 23 November 2021: Two hundred participants from 35 countries have registered for oriGIn 2021 Biannual Meeting, which started today with the organization’s Statutory Assembly and will continue tomorrow with a conference on the latest Geographical Indications trends at the international level. Both events are held in a virtual mode. This shows once again the tremendous interest generated by Geographical Indications at the global level. Over the last two years, in a context marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, Geographical Indications producers, transformers and retailers have been making tremendous efforts to maintain the supply of quality products to consumers. Meanwhile, as the agri-food sector is largely composed of small producers and small and medium-sized companies, they have been facing unprecedented challenges.
