Dear members and oriGIn community,
In the last Alert of 2024, we are glad to publish two articles:
1. The first one is the announcement of the venue and dates of our 2025 Biennial Meeting: It will take place in Morelia (Michoacán, Mexico), from 8 to 10 October. It will be an amazing opportunity to discuss key issues, such as the development craft GIs worldwide as well as the strengthening of groups.
2. The second one is about one of the several initiatives oriGIn has contributed in 2024: The publication of the study: “EU Member States’ potential for protecting craft and industrial Geographical Indications”. It concerns 2024, but it might have a huge impact in 2025 (and beyond). With the entry into force of the EU Regulation 2023/2411 at the end of next year, craft and industrial GIs will generate attention as well as fresh opportunities of collaboration within our global community.
Likewise, we would like to invite you to review some of the main achievements we have accomplished together this year. Please have a look at the Alert session 2024 in review: Key oriGIn moments during the last year. It will give you a sense of our activities and impact worldwide. We hope it will make you proud to belong to our global alliance.
