“We are proud to be the first country in Latin America to establish an oriGIn national antenna. As in Peru Geographical Indications are recognized as property of the State, INDECOPI has decided to take the lead and establish a national association, which will help Peruvian producers to exchange best practices and respond to crucial challenges in areas such as protection, the establishment and smooth functioning of groups and controls. The decision to create the national association in the framework of oriGIn will allow Peruvian stakeholders to benefit from the tremendous experience available within the global Geographical Indications alliance”, says Mr. Ivo Gagliuffi Piercechi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of INDECOPI.
