16/04/2024- On 10-11 April, oriGIn EU organised in Brussels a conference with AREPO and Euromontana on the new EU GI Regulation and held its General Assembly

On 10 April, in the framework of Horizon 2020 MOVING project, in cooperation with the AREPO and Euromontana, oriGIn EU organised in Brussels a conference « The new legal framework for EU Quality Products: opportunities and challenges for mountain and GI products“. A session was dedicated to the revised EU GI regulation, where the place of EU geographical indications and quality products in the future CAP as well as the role they play in the sustainable development of our rural and remote areas were discussed. You can find the introduction by Mr. Canga Fano (Director in charge of Outreach, Research & Geographical Indications, DG Agri, European Commission) here, the round table with Ms.Sander (MEP and shadow rapporteur for the GI revision, Quaestor of the European Parliament) and Ms.Tolleret (MEP and shadow rapporteur for the GI revision), representatives from oriGIn EU and regional minister here, the concluding remark by Mr.De CastroMEP and rapporteur for the GI revision) here and Mr. Bertinelli (President of the Consorzio del Formaggio Parmigiano Reggiano) here.
