
CIRAD and REDD, in collaboration with INDECOPI (Peruvian Intellectual Property Office), are organizing the AmLat GI training course this year, which will take place from September 6 to 12, 2026, in Cusco.
This course is aimed at development agencies, professionals and academics in rural development and the value chain, IP administrators responsible for GI registration, experts from technical ministries involved in rural development and support organizations, regional and local bodies, and associated members of GI producer organizations, cooperatives, supply chains, and interprofessional organizations.
The course will cover different aspects of the GI system, addressing GIs as an intellectual property tool and their access to and protection of the market, their potential contribution to local and sustainable development, their link to terroir and the territory, specifications, the development of an organized and representative value chain, control systems, and key aspects of GI management and marketing/promotion.
Throughout the course, participants will have direct access to GI professionals through practical case studies to discuss these mechanisms in relation to their own national context.
