Please find attached a proposal to amend the Organization’s Statutes (HERE) and Internal Regulations (HERE) . These proposals will be discussed at the statutory General Assembly in Morelia on October 8, 2025.
Over the past years, oriGIn has grown significantly expanding both its global network and the range of services offered to members. Demand for advocacy, legal support, and knowledge-sharing initiatives continues to rise. To maintain high-quality services and ensure the harmonious growth of our global GI community, it is necessary to adapt our governance, financing model, and organizational structure.
The proposed amendments reflect this evolution. The main adjustments include:
- Revision of membership fees – to reflect the diversity of entities joining oriGIn and to secure the long-term sustainability of the Organization. This includes a 10 % increase in membership fees, the first adjustment since oriGIn’s establishment in 2003. After 23 years of steady growth, this update is essential to ensure operational efficiency and continued development.
- Enhanced framework for national and regional branches (“antennas”) – clarifying their competencies, objectives, and coordination with oriGIn’s headquarters in Geneva.
These amendments align with oriGIn’s strategic plan for the next biennium: expanding global presence, visibility, and impact; reinforcing organizational foundations; and strengthening governance and network cohesion.
