Together with a sound multilateral legal framework for GIs (which must set in an transparent way a solid level of protection as a guarantee for all businesses and consumers around the world), oriGIn sees positively the signature of those bilateral agreements (Free Trade Agreement with a GI chapter, GIs Agreements, Cooperation Agreement with implications for GIs, etc. …) that improve the protection of GIs.
As the EU has concluded (and continues to negotiate) agreements covering GIs with a high number of trade partners around the world, oriGIn has prepared a comprehensive summary of such agreements.
