Regulatory Issues

Certain regulatory policies (such as for instance labelling measures) adopted by States might impact on GIs. oriGIn monitors such policies in order to make sure they are not encroaching in an unjustified way on the protection or on the sustainability of GIs. On regulatory measures impacting on GIs, see also the chapter on voluntary standards of the Declaration of Guadalajara adopted by oriGIn Members on 29/09/2011.
